My first try at cupcakes..I think they turned out pretty darn good :)
This week I have decided to focus on the creative side of
individuals and thought it would be fun to check out Phat Cat’s in Penticton
and take some classes. They offer a full range of classes from cup cake
decorating to chocolate molding.
I personally have taken a cup cake decorating class and found it loads of fun. You learn all sorts of techniques, the do’s and don’ts of decorating and they give you a bunch of ideas to try out. When you sign up, upon payment you will be given a list of things to bring for the day of. This includes your own cupcakes, icing, bags, colouring, apron, decorative candy etc.
In order to attend you must be 16 years or older, as well as sign up in advance, along with prepayment. Unfortunately there is no parking available for the shop; however there is free evening parking and one hour daily parking available.
If you’re a bit unsure and nervous about trying something new, don’t be, they have classes for beginners all the way to intermediate.
I should also note that Phat Cats is not a one stop shop! Here you can purchase supplies, rent pans and get lots of great advice. If you’re having a problem with your decorating or baking they can help you out, answer any questions you may have.
Below is Phat Cats website. They have lots of great pictures and info on the classes available. The best part is you get to eat your gorgeous creation once you done!
