We are on week 2 and the featured place to visit is the Nk’Mip Resort. This is located in Osoyoos and it is not just a one stop shop they have the Nk’Mip RV Park, Nk’Mip Cellers, Desert Cultural Center and Spirit Ridge. Each of these places has something different and fun to offer.
First stop is the Nk’Mip RV Park located right on Osoyoos Lake, being one of the most popular spots camp in the area. It’s located close to town, over 320 sites to choose from, club house, indoor pool, hot tub and convenience store. Everything you could you need is here and if do you need more just pop into town, only a few minutes away. Here you can enjoy the experience of camping but with all the amenities of home. I love it there! There are great people, conversation and a good time to be had.
Second stop is Desert Cultural Center. There is a plethora of things to do here, perfect for people of all ages. There are both outdoor and indoor exhibits, “Critter Corner” & “Living Land” displays, trail walks, sweat lodge, pit house, sculptures, hike and rappelling excursions among many other things.
Not to mention you can experience an Eco- fishing tour as well. Learn about the salmon stocks in the Okanagan River, hear stories the Chaptik and absorb the knowledge the First Nations have to offer. These tours are $75 per person or $200 per family (2 parents + 1 child) and lest we forget each of you get to keep a fresh fish from that days catch.
The third stop touring Nk’Mip Resort is Spirit
Ridge, one spot any woman will enjoy.
You can enjoy a massage, manicures, pedicures, facials and plenty more. Spend the day treating yourself and finish it
off with fine dining at the Passa Tempo Restaurant or check out Nk’Mip Cellars,
an onsite winery. Sample some delicious wines, take in the view of the valley
and check out the gift shop.
Now I can’t forget the men out there, so for those of you not interested in pampering yourself spend some time at the Sonora Dunes Golf Course. Take a few hours to hit a ball around the course, check out the desert setting and have some man time. Yes, man time. Every guy needs time for himself and where better to do it!
So why not check out Nk’Mip Resort when you have a
day off, bring your kids or grandkids or just you and a friend. Experience
Osoyoos like never before.
